More tunes on the site - some demos of bits of ideas that have been floating around for a year or two. Comments welcome. Between Earth and Sky is something I rather like, if completely self-indulgent!
Welcome to my site. I'm Luke, a guitarist based in Monmouthshire, Wales, UK. Come back for demos and information about the horrifically painful process that is trying to wrestle a tune from a plank and six strings!
Guitar9.com is the Internet's most successful instrumental guitar store, and showcases the best guitarists from around the world, in all genres - they have a bi-monthly 'undiscovered' section, which featured me following the release of my first (and poorly produced!) debut CD. They said:
"A nimble-fingered axemeister in the vein of Joe Satriani and Mike Keneally, Rake pays special attention on several tracks to his intricate arrangements and double- and triple-tracked guitar, ensuring a quality listen - beyond the rhythm 'n improv approach taken by a lot of shredders....the overall goal of Time To Breathe appears to be split between showcasing Rake's technical chops, which are unquestioned, and his compositional style. You'll hear a wealth of modern playing ideas on Rake's CD, including tapping, whammy bar work, minor third harmony (a la Iron Maiden), speed picking, and delay effect popularized by Edward Van Halen. Rake's recording shows a lot of promise, and should be the first in a long line of instrumental projects."

OK - that's enough snow for now. On the plus side, there's been little reason to venture out on the bike so I've been starting to play around a bit with some new tunes. Demo of a little ambient number ( name tbc I think, but 'Ambience' will do for now!) is over there, or it will be as soon as the viviti server sorts its life out...also a version of tune with a working title of EJRO which is out there already but hasn't been formally released.
Feel free to tell me what you think - all my older material is freely available on the net and demo's from places like iTunes, so I'm probably only going to put new stuff up here. Anyhow - enough wittering, let me know what you think. Requires mastering properly btw...!
